Kohima: Nagaland school education department on Wednesday notified that the second phase of video and audio broadcast lessons for classes VIII-XII is scheduled from July 11-30. The broadcast will also incorporate sign language, making it an inclusive learning atmosphere for children with disabilities.
Principal Director of School Education, Shanavas C informed that video and audio lessons would be conducted through Doordarshan Kohima, All India Radio, Kohima, the department's YouTube channel at DoSE Nagaland and Facebook at School Education, Nagaland.
The education department feels that in the previous phases of broadcast, "enough efforts were not made by a section of the District/Sub Divisional educational authorities and school heads to ensure that the benefits of the programme reaches all sections of students across the State".
This time heads of all government schools have been asked to ensure that parents are sensitized about the various modes of broadcast made viz, Doordarshan, Youtube, Facebook and All India Radio so that they could access the broadcast as per their convenience.
The department has asked all heads of government schools to effectively utilize all kinds of resources available at schools to ensure that the benefits of the broadcast reaches all sections of the society.
It also directed the heads of schools to ensure that all teachers remain in the respective place of posting and that their services are utilized to supplement the Tele/Radio Online Education programme. "Data of students accessing the various modes of the broadcast should be maintained and furnished as and when asked for," it said.
