In Sushant Singh Rajput's death, Nagaland lost a kind soul

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away earlier today, had donated Rs 1.25 crore towards flood relief in Nagaland in 2018

Kohima: Moments after the news of popular Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death came to the fore, several people from Nagaland, including chief minister Neiphiu Rio, recalled his kind deeds for the state.

In 2018, when Nagaland was affected by floods and landslides, the actor personally visited the state and donated a sum of Rs 1.25 crore for the cause.

Taking to twitter, CM Rio tweeted: "Shocked & saddened to hear about the untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. He personally handed over a cheque to me when Nagaland was affected by floods & landslides in 2018. His love & generous contribution to the people of Nagaland will always be remembered. May his soul RIP".

Abu Metha, adviser to the chief minister, tweeted a video of the actor playing cricket during his visit to the state.

"Sad to hear the shocking news of #SushantSinghRajput’s demise. Fantastic actor& a kind soul, a friend of Nagaland. He visited us during natural calamities&generously contributed. RIP & ThankYou for the fun&joy u gave us. Pictures of his #Nagaland visit with @Neiphiu_Rio," Metha tweeted.

Metha had earlier tweeted saying "#RIP #SushantSinghRajput. Fantastic actor&kind hearted. ThankYou for the wonderful moments. Video of him playing cricket in #Nagaland when he visited during natural calamities to donate towards charity".

Although the actor is no more, memories of his legacy will continue to live on.

In September 2018, the chief minister announced Sushant Singh Rajput's assistance to the state as he tweeted: "I thank Sushant Singh Rajput @itsSSR for standing with #Nagaland. He personally handed over a cheque of Rs.1.25 crore towards CM Relief Fund. I am grateful to him and everyone who has come in support of our state".
