COVID-19: Highest single-day spike as 22 test positive in Nagaland

Out of 171 samples tested, 22 more returnees from Chennai tested positive taking the State's tally to 80

Kohima: Nagaland has recorded a highest single-day spike as 22 more Chennai returnees were tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning, taking the total number of active cases in Nagaland to 80.

Out of the 171 samples that were tested from the Kohima and Dibrugarh, 22 were tested positvie. With 80 positive cases in the state, no recovery and death cases are reported in the state.

Taking to Twitter, Health minister S Pangyu Phom tweeted "Alert! Out of 171 samples tested at NHAK & Dibugarh, 22 more returnees from Chennai has tested COVID-19 +ve. Positive : 80 Active : 80 Recovered. : 00 Death. : 00 Update at 08:55 am, 4th June 2020".

The first COVID-19 cases were detected in the state on May 25 when three persons, two men and one woman, who returned on the Shramik special train from Chennai in Tamil Nadu on May 22, tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
