Dimapur Naga Students’ Union appeals all private schools and colleges to give concession on fees to students in the district amid COVID-19 lockdown
Dimapur: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) of Nagaland has appealed all the schools and colleges in the district to give concessions to students amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Issuing an appeal on Sunday, the DNSU said that with the outbreak of COVID-19, a majority of the citizens are at distress mentally, physically and financially. “As such, it is the moral and social obligation of every sensible citizen to understand the situation and hardship of our citizens on humanitarian grounds,” it said.
The DNSU further appealed the private schools and colleges to ponder and take the appeal with utmost importance and also consider the grievances of the common people.
The apex student body of Dimapur also cautioned the private agencies in the district stating that “it is heard that some private agencies are approaching some schools and colleges to collect names and money from the students on the pretexts of filling up scholarship forms, as such the union reminded that the ministry of minority affairs are yet to give out directives to fill up the scholarship forms.”
DNSU further reminded that there were some technical issues in the past related to agencies and scholarship which had created havoc between the students and the agencies. “The union strictly warned those responsible agencies to take proper precautionary before taking up the task. Further, the union directed the erring agencies to approach the office of the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union and sign the undertaking to take complete responsibility on any discrepancies in due course of executing the duty on scholarship,” the appeal added.
