In joint operation launched by Assam Rifles & Indian Army, 2 active self-styled sergeants identified as Kabato Sema & Lokivi Sema nabbed in Nagaland’s Mon district
Kohima: Two active rebels of the banned militant outfit NSCN (K-Yung Aung) based in Myanmar were apprehended by the Assam Rifles and Indian Army near Yoching in Mon District of Nagaland on Saturday.
An official information from Lt Col L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) on Sunday said that as part of the ongoing crackdown by security forces on insurgent groups, two active militants of NSCN (K-YA) were apprehended near Yoching in Mon district of Nagaland.
A joint operation was launched by the Assam Rifles and Indian Army in the area and two active self styled sergeants identified as Kabato Sema and Lokivi Sema were apprehended.
A .32 mm pistol, 10 lives rounds of ammunition and Rs 25,000 in cash were recovered during the operation. The arrested persons along with recovered items were handed over to the Mon police station for further investigation, reports said.
