Coronavirus: No confirmed case; 148 under surveillance in Nagaland

According to latest updates received from health & family welfare department, no samples have been sent for coronavirus testing in the state so far

Kohima: With no confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nagaland, the latest update from the state government’s health & family welfare department said that 148 persons are under surveillance. Extending the screening of entry points for both railways and roadways, so far travelers at 14 entry points are being screened, besides Dimapur Airport.

The update, as of 6 pm of March 20, said that Dimapur Airport has screened 2,202 persons. Similarly, over 21,387 persons have been screened at the entry points to the state (by railway and roadways).

While the state has ordered a blanket ban on both domestic and international tourists into the state in order to prevent and control the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and as a measure of abundant caution, the update said that at present, there are 14 foreigners in the state.

It also informed that all district task forces are in place across all districts. It added that a total of 6,921 phone calls have been received through the helpline numbers.
