Kohima: The NSCN-IM on Friday evening refuted a report about the “emergency meeting” with interlocutor for Naga peace talks and Nagaland governor RN Ravi on March 9 in New Delhi.

A press statement issued by its MIP said that the NSCN-IM has “no knowledge of the proposed talks stated to be held”. This statement was issued as a rejoinder to a report by EastMojo on Thursday, which cited highly-placed sources in the Union home ministry.

The NSCN-IM, through the statement said that the Government of India (GoI) must be “very clear about the position of its representative RN Ravi with regards to the Framework Agreement (FA), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and its agencies like the NIA with terrorist activities even after 22 years of Indo-Naga political negotiation that had started from August 1, 1997”.

It also advised the ministry of home affairs “not to put itself into baseless and pseudo position”.

Earlier, sources informed EastMojo that Nagaland governor RN Ravi is all set to hold an 'emergency meeting' with a delegation of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN)-IM led by senior leader VS Atem in New Delhi on March 9.
