Kohima: The Naga Students' Federation (NSF), the apex students’ body of the state, informed that a consultative meeting with the Nagaland-based presidents of its federating and sub-ordinate bodies will be held on March 4.

A press statement issued by Ninoto Awomi, president, and Liremo Kikon, general secretary, said that the consultative meeting will be held at Oking NSF office, Naga Club Building in Kohima on 12 noon on March 4.

The students’ body has requested all its federating units and subordinate bodies within the state of Nagaland to be present during the meeting.

The announcement comes after the Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) took a jibe at the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) for serving a 15-day ultimatum to the state government using “other people and organisations who have no connection” with the state and “undermining the Nagas of Nagaland”.

The statement made by the CNSA came as a response to the 15-day ultimatum served by the NSF on February 22, where it demanded the state government to approve and implement the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) policy; scrap all departmental exams; impose ban on direct recruitment to all group C posts which shall be requisitioned through open recruitment.

Although no further information was disseminated, NSF president Ninoto Awomi confirmed with EastMojo that the meeting with the state-based student leaders of its federating units and subordinate bodies has been called to deliberate on the concerns raised by the CNSA.
