Coronavirus: Those coming to Nagaland from China being quarantined

While no nCoV aka Coronavirus case has been registered in state so far, Nagaland health dept issues helpline numbers for persons coming from affected countries

Kohima: Nagaland’s health & family welfare department has notified that 33 persons, who entered the state from affected countries, showed no symptoms of the Novel Coronavirus (nCoV). While no nCoV case has been registered so far, an official statement from the department said that those coming from China are being quarantined as per protocol.

As all necessary precautions are taken to monitor such persons, the public has been advised not to panic over the issue. Appealing for full cooperation, it urged persons coming from those affected countries to contact the department and to self-declare at:- +91-7005435243, +91-9856071745 and +91-7005539653.

Furthermore, it requested all persons who have visited the affected countries on or after January 15 this year to send their detailed addresses of the place(s) visited along with the local address to the helpline numbers through an SMS or through WhatsApp. It maintained that the details and personal information of the persons will be kept as confidential.

Meanwhile, on Monday, state minister of health & family welfare S Pangnyu Phom reviewed the state’s situation of the 2019 nCoV at a meeting held with the secretary, principal director, mission director (NHM) and departmental officers.
