Nagaland: Tetseo Sisters’ new album ‘A Slice of Li’ launched

7-track EP currently available on platforms like iTunes, Amazon, etc; was digitally released worldwide in May; album a ‘culmination of over a decade of experimentation’

Kohima: A Slice of Li, Naga quartet Tetseo Sisters' latest album, was launched at a function in RCEMPA, Jotsoma in Nagaland on Wednesday evening. It was released by Abu Metha, advisor to Nagaland CM and secretary general of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), who congratulated the sisters for a successful journey in music.

A Slice of Li is a 7-track Extended Play (EP) that was digitally released worldwide in May this year. It is currently available on music platforms such as iTunes and Amazon, among others.

The 'Deluxe Edition EP' in CD format contains four bonus instrumentals or four of the quartet's hit songs Rhosi, Hiyo, Ohe and The Tati Song.

The CD will be available in stores and online platforms from December 1.

According to reports, the EP is the culmination of over a decade of experimentation, drawing inspiration from the sisters' shows from around the country and beyond, jam sessions on the road and improvisations along the way.

The album contains original Naga folk melodies and stories rewritten and presented in the musicians' unique style and folk fusion. The EP also features original fan art and celebrates artwork by fans, enthusiasts and artists inspired by the Tetseo Sisters, their fashion sojourns, the music and Li stories, exclusively curated for A Slice of Li and dedicated to all Li fans.

Meanwhile, the first ever Hornbill Festival Box Office Show featuring the Tetseo Sisters will commence from December 2 at Bamboo Hall, Kisama and continue till December 10 under the aegis of Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) in association with the government of Nagaland and Nagaland Tourism.

The show will be managed by imagi.NATION. It will be a state-of-the-art production with programmed lighting, exciting props, audio-sound effects and set in a customised ambience put together by the best of talents of Nagaland.

Tickets will be available at the venue in different slabs ranging from Platinum at Rs 4,000 (admit two – front-row seating, refreshments, merchandise, meet & greet) to Classic Single (Rs 500) while entry is free for children under 7 years. Nagaland residents may avail of discounted tickets at Rs 200 on showing valid ID at the Bamboo Hall check point.
