Guwahati: With the clock ticking on the deadline of the crucial Naga peace talks, a video from the Khehoi camp of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim's (NSCN) ‘Unification’ faction has gone viral on the Internet.

In the video from Khehoi camp in Peren district of Nagaland, a senior NSCN-U leader is seen encouraging cadets of the outfit not to turn their back and run from the camp as the deadline of October 31 given by the Union government for the final solution approaches.

The NSCN-U was formed on November 23, 2007 with a truce agreement signed between few cadres and leaders of the NSCN-IM and NSCN-K in Dimapur with the aim of unifying the two warring factions of NSCN.

In the video, a senior militant of NSCN-U is pumping the cadres and imbibing a sense of nationalism as he questions, "Do you guys want to become freedom fighters?" to which the cadres reply, "Yes, we want to be."

Exhorting them to stick together through the trying times ahead, the leader said: "The ones who have run away are cowards."

The cadets are also asked to be bold and to stand firm on their grounds as the final solution date set by the Union is approaching.

Incidentally, several of the cadets seen in the video seem to be in their early teens. The presence of these younger cadres brings the UN resolution to the fore that condemns the recruitment of children in armed conflicts.
