Addressing the media, Novaturient Managements board member Neitho Khamo said that their sole aim is to set a benchmark by giving due platform to all components of the fashion industry and to also promote the local designers in a globalised sector.

“While a collection of 13 designers will be displayed through ramp walks, products of other designers, brands or store, will be up for sale at assigned stalls within the vicinity,” Khamo said.

Being an exclusive event in the state’s capital, Khamo expressed that the event will first focus on promoting the fashion industry from the capital besides fashion show, workshop, clinic and event plannings organised under the management agency.

FBB Femina Miss India Nagaland 2017 Ruopfuzhano Whiso said that the one month-old management firm will be officially launched at the event itself.

“This time, we are officially launching our management agency with ‘Ardour: Fall/Winter 2019’ show. We chose the name ‘Ardour’ as we want to recruit designers and make them to come and show their creations,” Whiso said, further saying that the creations will range from accessories to apparels.

Expressing that male models are often not included in such an event, Whiso said that the even will feature them in a big way.

Sharing more details, renowned designer from the state, Theja Sekhose, informed that out of the 13 designers, 11 are locals including both trained and naturally talented designers.

“Each collection will feature 15 designs and the works of these designers will be displayed by 30 models — both amateurs and professionals — during the fashion show,” Sekhose said.

Highlighting the preparedness of the event, Sekhose said that unlike other fashion shows held at the Theatre Hall in RCEMPA, the event will be professionally arranged at the lobby for which renovation and installation works of the arena are in process.

Talking about the fashion culture in the state, Sekhose expressed that it is still at the initial stage and has a long way to go (to become a fashion industry), although a lot of change is taking place at the same time. “Constantly, we are heading to a brighter side and I am hopeful and happy about it,” he said.

Sekhose, who began his career as a model, is also a fashion show producer, choreographer and runway coach.

Stating that fashion events become expensive for designers, Sekhose said that the registration forms for designers are priced at Rs 5,000 which in total will cover the expenses of models as well as make-up artists. “It is a solution provider for designers,” he added.

An audition will also be held on August 23 at St Joseph’s College Jakhama to recruit interested and capable models from the college.

Meanwhile, Limese, a Korean brand, will be sponsoring gift hampers for the models. Donor pass holders will also be given a return favour, although the content of it was not disclosed.

Intriguing the fashion enthusiasts from the state, the organisers kept repeating that the event will be a surprise to all onlookers. “Donor passes are priced at Rs 2,000 and general passes at Rs 500, which are available at Lady Ruo Store and Theja Sekhose Store,” the organisers added.
