Guwahati: With the recent appointment of Vishwa Mohan Bhatt as the patron and mentor of the state’s music industry, the newly renamed department of music and arts in Nagaland, the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) is keeping its word of bringing positive changes to the sector.
The appointment of Bhatt, a recipient of the prestigious Grammy Award for his album A Meeting by the River and Padma Bhushan for excellence in the field of music, is giving musicians from the state a hope to see new avenues open up for them at the global level.
In a video which was released after the appointment of the music legend, he was seen sending his love to the people of Nagaland. “I love the people, I love the music and I love everybody there. Nagaland is my favourite state,” said the maestro. Further he wished all the best to the people of the state.
Earlier known as the Music Task Force, TaFMA is the thriving force for promoting artistes from the state into the music industry. It also hosts various events and concerts to give platforms to the young and upcoming musicians from the state. With the renaming of the department to TaFMA, the department is seen engaging with the artistes from all the fields of entertainment and art.
