Nagaland: Dimapur locals come together to aid Assam flood victims

Charity event organised by Dimapur 24/7 and Hailstone band; raises Rs 70,949, essential items; 14 bands from across town perform in open-air concert

Guwahati: Dimapur 24/7, a popular Facebook and Instagram page from Nagaland, organised a charity concert in aid of the flood victims in neighbouring Assam on Saturday. Up to Rs 70,949 and other essential items were raised during the open-air concert held in collaboration with Hailstone band.

Dimapur 24/7

Fourteen bands from across the town performed during the event that saw a lot of young and talented artistes coming together for a noble cause. The programme was anchored by Allan Aley, secretary of Dimapur 24/7, and short speeches were delivered by Chandu Kumar Agarwal, governor of the Rotary Club of Dimapur, and Kuholy Chishi, chairperson of Churches Colony, Dimapur.

While speaking with EastMojo, Dimapur 24/7’s Aley said that many different groups and organisations came forward to help them host the charity event.

“We extend out heartful graditude to the district administration for allowing us to host the charity campaign and also extend our appreciation to Dimapur Traffic Police for their good service. Last but not the least, our special thanks goes out to Moa Sangtam, CEO of DMC, for his valuable support and guidance. Humanity is alive,” Aley added.
