The 2002-batch civil services officer of the Karnataka cadre was named personal secretary to the Union minister for a period up to July 22, 2020, as per an office memo
Guwahati: M Imkongla Jamir, a native of Nagaland, was on Friday re-appointed as the private secretary (PS) to Union women & child development and textiles minister Smriti Zubin Irani till July 22, 2020.
According to an office memorandum released by the department of personnel & training, Jamir's appointment was approved for a period up to July 22, 2020 (balance period of five years as PS to a minister) with "effect from date of assumption of the charge of the post or on co-terminus basis or till she ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, which event occurs the earliest".
Jamir, an IAS officer of 2002 batch of the Karnataka cadre, is a post-graduate in psychology and has previously worked as deputy secretary in department of commerce, ministry of commerce and industry. She hails from Mokochung district in Nagaland. She completed her Master’s in clinical psychology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi.
