In what can be stated as one of the closest battles for the lone Lok Sabha seat in the history of Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party was declared victorious by a close margin of 16,344 votes over former CM and Congress candidate KL Chishi. This is as per the provisional results, as the final results have not been declared yet.
With a vote count of 4,97,174, Tokheho Yepthomi of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party is leading by 13,428 votes over Congress' KL Chishi who has a vote count of 4,83,746. The total number of votes counted till 07:05 pm is 10,02,588. Counting of postal ballots has also started.
In a drastic development, NDPP candidate Tokheho Yepthomi has now reclaimed the lead just by 5,293 votes over Congress' KL Chishi. The total vote count as of 6.35 pm are as follows: Congress: 4,80,009 votes; Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party: 4,85,302 votes; National People's Party: 14,183 votes; Independent: 4,209 votes; NOTA: 1,996 votes
As the closing hour comes in for the counting, KL Chishi of Congress is leading with a small margin of 9,406 votes over NDPP's candidate Tokheho Yepthomi. While the present vote count of Congress is 4,47,220, that of NDPP is 4,64,814.
KL Chishi, the Congress candidate, now has a total vote count of 4,62,732 and is leading with a vote count of 15,096 over NDPP's Tokheho Yepthomi who has a vote count of 4,58,692 at present. So far, 9,47,716 votes have been counted out of the 11,82,948 for the lone Lok Sabha constituency in the state.
Congress' KL Chishi is still maintaining the lead with 18,785 votes. Nationalist Democratic Progressive's Tokheho Yepthomi has closed the gap but is still trailing with a total vote count of 4,38,147. Chishi has a vote count of 4,56,932 votes at present.
The one and only Lok Sabha seat from the state is still left in a tight spot as the closing hour for the counting sets in. Congress' KL Chishi has got 4,37,448 votes, still maintaining a lead by 28,413 votes. Meanwhile, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party's candidate Yepthomi has got a total vote count of 4,09,035 votes at present.
While Congress candidate KL Chishi has now extended the vote count lead to 32,533 by securing 4,00,530 votes, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)'s Tokheho Yepthomi is trailing with 3,67,997 votes. Over 60% votes have been counted so far out of the 11,82,948 voters in the state.
The battle for the lone Lok Sabha seat of Nagaland still continues with Congress' KL Chishi still maintaining a steady lead of 19,873 votes. While Chishi bagged a vote count of 3,36,549, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)'s Tokheho Yepthomi has managed to gather 3,16,676 votes so far.
In a new development, Congress' KL Chishi has taken over the lead by 7,011 votes over Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)'s Tokheho Yepthomi. While the vote count stands at 2,39,632 votes for Chishi, that of Yepthomi is 2,32,621.
With a steady lead of 3,796 votes, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)'s Tokheho Yepthomi is leading over Congress KL Chishi. The current vote count for NDPP is 2,00,509 votes while for Congress, it's 1,96,713 votes. The vote count is still premature but both the candidates are putting up a very interesting fight for the lone Lok Sabha seat in the state.
With a very small margin, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)'s Tokheho Yepthomi is leading with 7,365 votes over congress' KL Chishi. The state is witnessing a very close battle for the lone Lok Sabha seat after a very long time. NDPP has got 1,70,564 votes while Congress has 1,63,199 votes.
Nagaland's lone Lok Sabha seat is giving a very tight and interesting fight between two candidates out of the four that were nominated. At present NDPP's Tokheho Yepthomi has got over 1,58,612 votes and Congress' KL Chishi has got 1,36,215 votes. There are 11,82,948 voters from the state and 83.12% of the voters turned up for the recent Lok Sabha elections 2019 which was held on April 11, 2019.
Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)'s Sharingain Longkumer is leading with 8,233 votes over Congress' Alemjongshi Longkumer with 2,227 votes in the Aonglenden (ST) assembly constituency under Mokokchung district. The seat was officially declared vacant with effect from September 23 last year due to the demise of sitting MLA Imtikumzuk.
Now, Congress' KL Chishi takes the lead with 1,49,116 votes over Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)'s Tokheho Yepthomi with 1,22,003 votes in the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland
