It’s the second day of the year 2022 and we already have a rich collection of new sounds that dropped in the last two weeks. From a legendary nu-metal band and a Latin pop star to a romantic Assamese ballad and some rap tracks, we are happy to present to you the new songs to check out this week.

1. Evanescence – Across The Universe

The legendary nu-metal band is back with a super emotional ballad rock song with heartbreakingly touching singing by Amy Lee.

2. Nathy Peluso – Vivir Así Es Morir De Amor

The Spanish popstar sizzles and sparkles in this breathtakingly bombastic pop single. So feast your ears and open your senses to the Spanish-language musical treat.

3. Latto – Super Gremlin Freestyle

American rapper Latto gives us a cool, attitude-filled freestyle. It’s a genre where she feels most at home, compared to her experimental “Big Energy”.

4. Anthony De La Torre – Seasons

Produced by Sophie Rose, this song by Anthony De La Torre is your reliable radio-hit pop track but with deeply touching lyrics about mood swings and emotional roller coaster personalities.

5. HAEVN, Birdy – Open Hearts

A pop duo of HAEVN and English singer Birdy makes for a swirlingly enchanting tunee. Its sweet-natured lyrics backed by bare piano is perfect for this Christmas season.

6. Rebecca Black, Slayyter – Read My Mind

Rebecca Black (the “Friday”-hitmaker) and hyperpop doyen Slayyyter. “Read My Mind” is not as hard-hitting, edgy and innovative hyper-pop songs. It’s rather tame but will please the fans who are hungry to see the two pop divas together.

7. Tay Money – Self-Made

The rapper sprints through at least five different flows in this catchy, energetic and joyous hip-hop track.

8. Dee MC – Haath Hi Mera Saathi

We see a whole new side to the Mumbaikar rapper who switches the hoodie and tough girl-persona to sing delicately about the joy of being single and self-pleasure.

9. Gabrielle Aplin – Skylight

“Skylight” is a mild-natured, delicate little tune that does great as lounge music and will please fans of Raveena Aurora.

10. Darshana Kashyap, Navarun Choudhury, Bidyut Robin – KAAL NIXA

This trio of talented artists create a new Assamese track which is soft, subdued and with a nightly sort of wonder and beauty in its sound which will enrich the heart of music lovers.

11. Joss Stone – Breaking Each Other’s Hearts

The English songbird treats us with a lavish orchestra-backed jazzy, cinematic tune which will help you travel back in time as she croons about heartbreak and war.

12. System Olympia – One More Night

“One More Night” is a haunting, echoing, lo-fi electro pop track by the UK-based System Olympia. Check out the elusive artist’s other body of work such as “Crest of a Wave“.

13. DJ ShimZ – Survivor

The DJ-producer from Shillong makes a hard-hitting electro track that reminds one of Hollywood blockbuster soundtracks with their heavy, pounding bass and rousing, adrenaline-pumping emotion.
