1. Jimmy Fallon, Ariana Grande, and Megan Thee Stallion – It Was A… (Masked Christmas)

Late-night show host Jimmy Fallon collabs with bigwigs Ariana Grande and Megan The Stallion for a parody Christmas song. Fallon sounds surprisingly good here. Ariana is reliably melodious and sultry and Megan brings the energy to empower the track. The lyrics can be quite ridiculous. But perhaps that’s the point of a parody song.

Keep an eye out for Mitski’s album ‘Laurel Hell’ which comes out early next year.

6. AURORA – Heathens

Norwegian vocalist AURORA’s new song, “Heathens”, is characteristically soulful, sweet and rousing. The lyrics evoke country life and forests alike, of living close to nature with the memory of tragedies and war, and of rebelling against dogma.

7. Tierra Whack – Body of Water

After releasing her EP ‘Rap?’ last week, the Philadelphian rapper has surprised us by dropping yet another EP, this time titled ‘Pop?’. The opening track here, called “Body of Water”, is a classic Outkast-sounding rap track with a powerpack performance from Tierra. It has an unforgettably hilarious bridge that has Tierra repeating “love” over and over again with a dolphin-like high-pitched voice before swearing repeatedly. We can’t wait for ‘Rock?’, ‘House?’ and ‘Country?’.

8. Teamarrr – Pipe Up

14.Charli XCX – Good Ones (Perfume Genius remix)

Musician Perfume Genius, a.k.a Michael Alden Hadreas, remixes Charli XCX’s pop hit “Good Ones”. The remix sounds like angsty 90s synth-pop music that you hear in horror soundtracks. But in the best way possible. If there is something that needs getting used to, it would be Charli’s slowed down vocals.
