Taylor Swift drops re-recorded version of ‘Love story’

Pop sensation Taylor Swift surprised her fans again as she shared the new version of ‘Love story’ on Friday. Swift’s re-recording of ‘Love Story’ is utterly enchanting and has arrived just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Swift took it to social media and wrote, “My new version of Love Story (Taylor’s Version) is out now 💛💛 Get it instantly when you pre-order Fearless (Taylor’s Version).”

Along with the new version, Swift debuted a lyric video that features videos from her Fearless era, including concert footages and meet and greet photos with her fans.

The lyric video concludes with a clip of Swift doing her signature hand heart with the message, “With love to all of my fans.”

The new version is officially called ‘Love Story (Taylor’s Version)’ making it clear to the listeners that Swift owns the rights of this version of the song. The old version of ‘Love story’ was first released in September 2008.

According to reports, at the time when Swift signed her contract with Big Machine as a teenager, she agreed that the label would own the rights to her masters. Later Swift was offered the rights to her first six albums only if she recorded six new ones on Big Machine first.

Swift rather than getting tied to such condition, left the label, giving up her rights to the music.

In November 2020, Swift’s contract with Big Machine officially ended and she was able to begin re-recording the old songs on her own terms.

The 31-year-old earlier announced that she has been re-recording the music from her first six albums (Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation).

Before releasing ‘Love Story’, Swift also announced that the entire re-record of Fearless, her second album, will be coming on April 9. She also revealed that the new version will have 26 songs in total, which means there will be six never-before-heard songs that didn’t make the original album (platinum edition) when it was released.

“I’m thrilled to tell you that my new version of Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is done and will be with you soon. It has 26 songs including 6 never before released songs from the vault. Love Story (Taylor’s Version) will be out tonight 💛💛,” Swift posted on her twitter handle.

These are tracks that fans will finally be able to hear for the first time.
