Months before Indian release, Black Widow pirated on torrent

Within minutes of the premiere of Marvel’s ‘Black Widow’ on Disney+, the first official version of the film was online on torrent sites like The Pirate Bay and RARBG.

Torrent sites and other networks that enable piracy in multiple resolutions and file sizes have released the Scarlett Johansson-starter movie.

Pirated movies are always an issue for online releases, and Disney has a further problem here that the Marvel movie is not available in markets where cinemas are closed due to COVID-19 pandemic and for those who do not have premier access to Disney+.

For example, in India, Black Widow will release after most cinemas have reopened. Disney+ Hotstar is expected to release on October 8, but that may get delayed due to the theatrical release.

The film is now out in theatres and available on Disney+ with Premier Access which nearly costs Rs 2,240 per month. It is expected on Disney+ Hotstar is going to release it on October 8 and in India, it will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

In this new Marvel movie, Johansson plays Natasha Romanoff, her title character with events between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
