Are you an aspiring actor from Assam? Here is some good news for you. For the first time, in a one-of-its-kind, curated concept of the acting masterclass in Assamese is now available on the OTT platform Reeldrama.
Not all are lucky to get admission to acting schools, especially those from the hinterland and several corners of the state due to lack of such acting schools in their regions.
Their talent thus remain latent. Reeldrama’s Acting Master Class, with director Anupam Kaushik Borah, gives the added advantage of learning in one’s mother tongue from the comfort of their home.
The acting masterclass series is all set to help aspirants from Assam who have no facility to learn the tricks of the trade at their respective places. Now, anyone interested in learning professional acting need not travel to Guwahati or any of the big cities as Reeldrama brings the classes to home.

The 22-episode series deals with the basic and practical concept of acting, actor’s preparation, preparation for a character and how to act on stage as well as in front of the camera – in separate, dedicated chapters.
The masterclass is a practical and demonstration-rich program for acting and film enthusiasts. Darathie Bhardwaj and Kaushik Nath of Bornodi Bhotiai fame participated in the masterclass as acting demonstrators. They are also playing two romantically linked characters in a light hearted short fiction piece within the class. It is part of the demonstration and is spread across the episodes like a tiny series.
The masterclass also features ace actors and famed actor trainers Tapan Das, Baharul Islam, Zerifa Wahid, Jyoti Narayan Nath, Kapil Borah, Pakiza Begam, Lima Das, Himangshu Prasad Das and Himangshu Gogoi in various episodes and they give invaluable tips to the aspiring actors.

Anupam Kaushik Borah says,”In my growing up years, I had limited opportunities to learn acting. I had to travel the whole country to attend workshops and getting into NSD was no easy task. Training actors is one thing I love and I have been doing besides acting. I wanted to share my life-long learning about the art, my own understanding of it and my own practices with all who want to learn the art.”
Acting training through videos is a new and challenging experience for the trainer as well as the trainees. Borah says it was a learning experience for him too. “I am forever grateful to my teachers and master actor trainers. If the passionate learners of acting are benefitted by my class then I shall think my hard work pays off.”
The masterclass was shot by Prayash Sharma Tamuly, edited by Simanta Das and music is composed by Dharmajyoti Baruah.
