Aizawl: At least two persons, including a Myanmar national, were arrested for possessing over 80 grams of heroin worth Rs 2.45 lakh at different locations in Mizoram.
An official statement by the state excise and narcotics department on Sunday said that a 39-year old woman, identified as Gawihsianvungi from Myanmar, was arrested for possessing 58.7 grams of heroin worth Rs 1.75 lakh during a raid near Zote village in Champhai district near the Myanmar border on Sunday.
In another seizure, the department also seized 22 grams of heroin at Aizawl’s Hunthar locality on Saturday, the statement said.
A drug peddler identified as Lalrindika (28), a resident of Bethel veng in Champhai district was arrested for possessing the contraband worth Rs 70,000, it said.
