Mizoram gets its first golf course at Thenzawl
Aizawl:On behalf of Union minister of state for tourism Prahlad Singh Patel, Mizoram tourism minister Robert Romawia Royte inaugurated the much-awaited, and the first golf course of Mizoram - Thenzawl Golf Course, on Tuesday. The inauguration was done via a video conference.
Patel said that Mizoram is one of the most beautiful states in India and a biological hotspot which can be a great attraction for tourists. “It is also an important link on India’s Foreign Policy of ‘Act East India Policy’”, he said.
The minister also assured that project funds would not be delayed due to the epidemic. Patel asked Mizoram to prepare itself for tourism industry post-COVID-19.
Royte thanked the union minister for inaugurating a Grade B certified Thenzawl Golf Course. He said that the golf course is among the best in Northeast and he is hopeful that it will attract many tourists which in turn will create a source of livlihood for the residents of the town.
He thanked Patel for his support in ongoing projects like PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) Scheme, Construction of Convention Centre in Mizoram and Swadesh Darshan 2 and he believed that all the projects will be a success through the union minister’s unending support.
Thenzawl Golf Resort is under ‘Integrated Development of New Eco Tourism under the Swadesh Darshan project’. Edufice Infraservices Private Limited, New Delhi constructed the Thenzawl Golf Course at a cost of Rs 6448.08 lakh. Construction started on January 2016 and was completed on April 2019.

Parking, Cafeteria, waiting lounge, open air food court, open air theatre and a convention centre.
