Mizoram holds the record of being the only state to successfully produce dragon fruit, a cactus like fruit imported from Thailand and Vietnam. It also exports anthurium, a decorative plant commonly known as laceleaf, to different states.

Under the ‘Doubling Farmers’ Income by 2022’ programme, off-season vegetables like cabbages and tomatoes have been successfully implemented. The department is also planning to build cold storage warehouses at various parts of the state.
