The Youth Olympic gold medalist gave a power-packed performance by pulling off two clean lifts in snatch (130 kg, 134 kg) to set a new mark, shattering his own record held at 131 kg in the EGAT Cup in Thailand in February.

Following this, the Mizoram weightlifter destroyed Kazakhstan weightlifter Saikhan Taisuyev’s youth world record of 161 kg by lifting more than twice his weight in two successful attempts (157 kg, 163 kg) at clean and jerk.

With the stellar performance, Jeremy crushed his own personal best of 288 kg youth world record.

The 67-kg category was added for the Olympic Games and other events only last year by the international federation.

Jeremy also bagged a gold in the 62-kg category at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympics in October last year.
