Shillong: On the eve of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, BJP minister Sanbor Shullai on Sunday visited the Madina Masjid in Jhalupara and addressed the Muslim Community of 19 South Shillong constituency.
During his visit, Shullai thanked the Muslim community for their support since 2008 when he was first elected as an MLA.
Shullai said that his acquaintance with the community is such that during Muharram he used to always accompany the Muslim brothers of Laban area towards Jhalupara and now both the areas fall under one constituency.
Shullai said he will ensure that peace and communal harmony always prevails and the people in his constituency are never divided, irrespective of caste, creed and gender.
Shullai appealed to all Muslims to pray for brotherhood and unity during the holy month of Ramzan and let peace prevail not only in Shillong and but the entire state.
Speaking on the occasion, general secretary of North East Muslim Union Md. Zakaria said that the work done by Shullai in 19 South Shillong constituency is a gift to the people and he appeals to the Muslim fraternity to continue to render support to Shullai for his never ending support and contribution to the society.
