Shillong: Meghalaya BJP state president Ernest Mawrie held core committee meeting and it was unanimously decided to appoint MLA AL Hek as chairman of the Central Scheme Monitoring Committee (CSMC) to look after all central schemes in the state.

After being appointed, MLA Hek appointed three chairman of major districts- Member of District Council (MDC) Bernard Marak for Garo Hills, Bernadette Lyngdoh for Khasi Hills and MDC Lakhan Biam. The three will now have to constitute their own committees and chalk out programmes.

“This committee will watch out, ensuring that schemes are reaching to the people and see that it is smoothly functioning,” stated Hek.

The development of Meghalaya is dominated by Central schemes be it PMGSY, Jal Jeevan among others.

Concerning the MDA government taking credit for the schemes that have been implemented, MLA Hek said it was too early to say if the state government as taking all the credit.
