Shillong: Meghalaya’s COVID-19 tally rose to 92,301 on Sunday as 157 more people tested positive for the infection, 34 more than the previous day, a senior health official said.
Four fresh fatalities pushed the northeastern state’s coronavirus death toll to 1,546, Health Services Director Dr Aman War said.
East Khasi Hills district, under which Shillong falls, recorded the highest number of new cases at 69, followed by 41 in West Garo Hills and 13 in Ri-Bhoi, he said.
The state now has 1,462 active cases, while 89,293 people have recovered from the disease so far, including 336 in the last 24 hours.
The administration has tested over 13.39 lakh samples for COVID-19, and inoculated 22.9 lakh people, of whom 9.35 lakh have received both doses of the vaccine, War added.
