Shillong: Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Thursday announced that the autumn session of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from September 10 to 17 this year.

The calendar for the upcoming autumn session was approved by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.

Deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong, who is in charge of Parliamentary affairs, leader of opposition Mukul Sangma, opposition MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh and MLA Balajied Synrem of the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance, among other officials, were present in the meeting of the BAC on Thursday.

The Speaker said that the session will be from September 10 to 17. He added that the session will have six working days, with three days each allotted for government business and private member’s business.

According to the calendar issued by Dr Andrew Simons, commissioner and secretary, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, the Speaker will announce the report of the Business Advisory Committee on the first day on September 10.
