Election rally in Meghalaya turns into concert
Election rally in Ampati

How often do we see people dancing joyfully and grooving during an election campaign? Well, there is a reason why Meghalaya is known as the rock capital of the country, after all. In the Ampati area in South West Garo Hills district, people were seen enjoying a musical performance after an election rally.

It was after star campaigner for National People’s Party and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma held a massive election rally in the area on Friday evening to seek a mandate for the NPP candidates.

The rally was held as a show of strength for the party in the area which is otherwise known as Congress turf. Soon after the chief minister’s address, musicians took over the stage and enthralled the audience, which included several children.
