Shillong: Meghalaya minister in-charge of Forests & Environment, James Sangma on Monday assured the House that the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government is working on setting up more eco-friendly crematoriums depending on the availability of funds.
Responding to a query in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Sangma said so far 26 eco-friendly crematoriums have been constructed across the state.
“There were a total of 15 numbers constructed between 2012-13 in different districts of Meghalaya. These were funded under the 12th finance commission,” informed Sangma.
