NPP Chief sets the tone for upcoming by-elections in Manipur

Shillong: With the upcoming by-elections in Manipur, the National President of the National People’s (NPP) Party Conrad K Sangma, on Sunday, encouraged the party leaders and party workers to ensure NPP wins maximum number of seats in this by-election.

Addressing a rally at Wangoi constituency in the presence of deputy chief minister of Manipur Joykumar Singh, health minister Jayanta Kumar and tribal affairs minister N Kayisii, Sangma said, “It will be very important for all of us as party leaders and workers to ensure that NPP wins maximum number of seats in this by-elections. It is because of how the politics is going on in the state and because of how these sitting MLAs are not performing in its constituency because of how the political dynamics of different communities will play in this election there is very strong chances that we will 100% win the elections here in Wangoi.”

Sangma further added that this by-election is important for the political party since this by-election results are going to indicate what the people of Manipur are thinking.

Conrad Sangma also addressed a gathering at Tentha Multiplex in Thoubal district. Recently constructed, the Tentha Multiplex aims is used for sports, cultural and educational activities.

Addressing the crowd, Sangma appreciated the initiative taken by the Tentha panchayat to provide a platform for the youth. He also informed the gathering that during the Coronavirus pandemic, the government of Meghalaya took up the challenge to convert the calamity into an opportunity.

Sangma informed that the government has initiated infrastructure projects worth Rs 7000 crore in Meghalaya.

Sangma urged the gathering to think of opportunities with neighbouring nations in South East Asia and harness the economic opportunity for the region. He said that the northeastern region has immense potential. The friendship and cooperation between states will enable us to earn rich dividends from exports of our products.
