The order will be effective from Friday; amendment of protocols being done according to guidelines issued by ICMR
Shillong: Following the new protocols issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Meghalaya government on Thursday decided to amend the SOPs and protocols laid down in the state from Day 1 of the COVID situation.
Addressing the media, deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong said after receiving latest guidelines from ICMR and after a detailed discussion the government has decided to amend the SOPs and protocols for prevention of COVID-19 spread.
"The returnees entering the state of Meghalaya from tomorrow onwards will need to isolate themselves for 10 days. They will also need to go for rapid antigen test. If they test negative, they will be allowed to go home and follow home quarantine for 10 days," said Tynsong.
Those who test positive, the protocol will be the same, and they will be taken to a COVID care centre and remain isolated for 10 days, added Tynsong.
The order will be effective from Friday and the amendment is being done according to guidelines issued by ICMR, he added.
