Shillong: Governor of Goa, Satya Pal Malik, has now been transferred and appointed as the new governor of Meghalaya on Tuesday.
According to a notification issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, it stated the President of India is pleased to make the following appointment/transfer:
(I)Shri Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Goa is transferred and appointed as Governor of Meghalaya.
(ii) Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Governor of Maharashtra to discharge the functions of the Governor of Goa in addition to his own duties.
The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
Meanwhile, Governor of Meghalaya, Tathagata Roy tweeted, “Upon receipt of news from Rashtrapati Bhavan I spoke to Shri Satyapal Malikji,the new Governor-Designate and welcomed him to Shillong. It may take him a little time to come here.
I was supposed to have been relieved on 20th May. Now the end of the road is in sight! 🙂🙂🙂”
