Meghalaya: 66 COVID-19 patients recover
Shillong: Meghalaya on Tuesday saw 66 patients recovering from COVID-19, an improvement in the numbers. The total recovered cases now stand at 330.
The 66 cases are from East Khasi Hills District, South West Garo Hills, Ri-Bhoi and West Garo Hills. East Khasi Hills District which is the worst coronavirus-hit district, saw 54 recoveries. Thirty-nine were from the BSF, 1 from army and 14 civilians.
Tuesday recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases taking the total active cases in the state to 582.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma took to twitter to share the positive news.
Sangma tweeted, “#Meghalaya records highest single-day recoveries with 𝟔𝟔 people recovered from #COVID19. Wishing everyone speedy recovery.”
Out of the 582 total active cases, East Khasi Hills District has a total of 473 active cases (BSF - 189, Armed Forces – 60 and Others- 224).
West Khasi Hills has 5, Ri-Bhoi- 55, West Jaintia Hills -16, East Jaintia Hills -17, West Garo Hills -14 and South Garo Hills-2.
