Meghalaya eases lockdown, archery makes a comeback

Shillong: Easing the lockdown in Meghalaya, the government on Friday brought several relaxations in the state.

Deputy chief minister, Prestone Tynsong informed that the government has decided to allow non-contact sports, which includes archery or ‘teer’.‘Teer’ is Meghalaya’s most popular gambling game.

Tynsong informed that modalities will be worked upon by the district administration.

He also informed that private and non-profit organisations will be able to restart their work but with a total strength of 33% only. Offices will have to maintain health protocols and standard operating procedures laid out by the government.

Tynsong informed that the government has partially allowed construction work at private or government offices but the work is yet to resume because of the absence of skilled labour.

“Those concerned private establishments need to apply to respective Deputy Commissioners’ as the need arises and the DCs will do the needful,” said Tynsong.
