Shillong: The COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya have now risen to 7. 5 new active cases were reported late Tuesday evening.

The cases reported were among those who had recently returned from Delhi and Haryana. They are currently isolated at the Corona Care Centre in Shillong.

Taking to Twitter Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted, “Five more people who came recently from Delhi-Haryana have been tested positive for COVID19. They are at Corona Care Centre, Shillong and asymptomatic. Total active cases in the state as of now is 7 (2+5).”

Meghalaya is screening all people returning to the state. They are then put in institutional quarantine till the RT-PCR results return negative.

The total tally of COVID-19 cases recorded by the state is 20. 12 have recovered, 1 died and 7 are active.
