Shillong: Meghalaya is now COVID-19 free. The lone case in the state retested negative for the second time.
Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma took to twitter to confirm the news. Sangma tweeted, “Second Retest of the lone active case (positive patient) was done again, and the test has come out negative. The patient can be declared as recovered.”
Meghalaya had recorded a total of 13 positive Covid-19 cases. This also includes the death of the first Covid-19 patient, Late Dr Sailo.
The last case was detected on May 9. The patient works in the same house of the index patient and being a primary contact a retest was done and was tested positive in the third Test.
