Ravi, who is also Centre’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, sworn in as Meghalaya governor; replaces Tathagata Roy who has gone on leave over a tweet row
Guwahati: Amidst the uproar against the amended Citizenship Act, Nagaland governor RN Ravi has been given the additional charge of Meghalaya.
Ravi will be sworn in on Tuesday noon, informed Rashtrapati Bhavan in a statement. He is Centre's interlocutor for the Naga peace talks.
Welcoming Ravi, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on Twitter said, "We welcome the Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland Sh. R N Ravi, who will be sworn in also as the Governor of Meghalaya. "
This comes after Meghalaya governor Tathagata Roy has gone on leave after a tweet by him had purportedly sparked controversy in the state.
