Shillong: Clearing the air on the confusion surrounding the results of Class X and XII exams, the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has now officially said that it will declare them on May 27.

The official announcement came after “results” of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations 2019 were published in a website on Monday. On verification, it was found that the website, http://files.nvshg.org, had published last year’s results and not this year’s.

The declaration of the ‘fake’ results had created confusion among the people. On Tuesday morning, state education board clarified that some miscreants had declared the results of the previous year and there was no leakage of this year’s results.

“We have found that the website had published the results of last year. While verifying, we saw that the website had changed only the year since last year the results were declared on May 25. But they had mentioned it as May 25, 2019,” MBOSE joint director M Marbaniang informed media persons on Tuesday.

Marbaniang further said that the state board has shot a letter to the Cyber Crime Cell of the Meghalaya Police and requested them to block the website. “We will issue an official release through the media on the announcement of the Class XII (Arts) and Class X results that are likely to be announced by next week,” he said.

The results of Class XII (Science & Commerce) exams were declared by the MBOSE on May 8.

Candidates can check their results by visiting the official website of the state board namely, www.megresults.nic.in and www.mbose.in. The results will be made available in some other websites as well, namely, jagranjosh.com; newsstate.com and meghalayaonline.in, among others.

A total of 51,321 candidates appeared in the Class X examination of state that was held in the month of March this year. Of this, 27,816 are girls.

A total of 25,053 candidates appeared in the Class XII (Arts) examination held across 101 centres in Meghalaya between February and March this year.
