Manipur: Ukhrul youth Hormipam Ruivah named as Hero ISL’s ‘Emerging Player of the Month’

Imphal: Hormipam Ruivah, a resident of Manipur’s Ukhrul district, has been adjudged the ‘emerging player of the month’ for March by the Hero-Indian Super League.

Ruivah, who is currently playing for Kerala Blasters FC as a defender at the country’s top tier men’s professional league, was given the emerging player of this month title following his outstanding performance at the ISL 2021-2022 season.

Taking to its Twitter handle, ISL wrote “Presenting to you, the Emerging Player of the month for March 2022 -@Hormipam.”

So far, Ruivah has played 11 matches for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League this season.

It may be noted that the 21-year-old football player from Somdal village has been called up by the Indian football coach Igor Stimac for the preparatory camp ahead of the two international friendly matches to be played in Belarus and Bahrain later this month.

He will be joining the professional squad after completing the ISL commitment for his club.

On Tuesday, after beating Jamshedpur FC in the semi-final at the Tilak Maidan Stadium In Vasco Da Gama, Kerala Blasters FC reached the Hero-ISL 2021-2022 finals spot.
