Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Govenor La. Ganesan extended their heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on the eve of the joyous Christmas celebration on Friday.

In his Christmas message, CM Biren Singh said Christmas is celebrated with great pomp and joy by billions of people all over the world.

“As we celebrate this Holy festival, we must emulate Jesus Christ’s eternal message of love and forgiveness by opening our hearts, and extending our helping hand to everyone,” said the chief minister.

While urging the people to forgive one another and celebrate the spirit of Christmas, Singh said, “This festival also provides an opportunity for the people of the state to forget ill will and misgivings, and forgive our enemies and celebrate the spirit of Christmas.”

Governor La. Ganesan also extended his greetings to the people of the state, especially the Christian brethren on the auspicious occasion of Christmas.

“Merry Christmas to all the people of the state, especially our Christian brothers and sisters in the state. This is a time to be with family and friends, a time for peace and piety. May Christmas bring hope and happiness to our state,” said the Governor.

While remembering the noble teachings of Jesus Chirst and recall his efforts towards creating a compassionate and equal society, Governor Ganesan added, “I wish Christmas to be celebrated by all in its true form and spirit.”
