DC of Mon, Thavaseelan K, handed over a cheque of Rs 3,00,000 on behalf of the governor to the wife of the deceased on Friday

Kohima: Nagaland Governor Jagdish Mukhi extended financial aid to the family of Naga soldier Rfn N Khatnei Konyak, who was killed along with six others in an ambush by militants on the convoy of the 46th Assam Rifles in Manipur on November 13.

Mon Deputy Commissioner Thavaseelan K handed over a cheque of Rs 3,00,000 on behalf of the Governor to the wife of the deceased on Friday, an update from the DIPR informed.

Earlier, Governor Mukhi had condemned the ambush by militants on the convoy of the 46 Assam Rifles at Sialsi village under Churachandpur district in Manipur.

The Governor had said that Konyak had served the country and made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. “Having such a courageous and fearless soldier is an honor for any country,” he was quoted as saying.
