Imphal: Governor of Manipur La. Ganesan on Monday visited the injured personnel of Assam Rifles at Shija hospitals, Langol, and Assam Rifles Multispecialty Hospital of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) in Mantripukhri.
The Governor interacted with the injured personnel, enquired about their health and wished them quick recovery.
At present, four injured jawans are undergoing treatment at General Male Medicine Ward and one at ICU of Shija Hospital, and one at the AR Multispecialty Hospital of IGAR (South).
On Saturday, the convoy of a Commanding Officer of 46 Assam Rifles unit was attacked by Manipur-based militants in Singhat sub-division in Churachandpur district. During the ambush, commanding officer Col Viplav Tripathi with his wife and son and four other from the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) were killed and several others injured.
