Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday launched the face-to-face coaching classes programme under the Chief Minister’s Civil Services Scholarship Scheme at the State Academy of Training, Takyelpat in Imphal West.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, CM Biren Singh said, “Delighted to launch the coaching classes for Civil Services under CM’s Civil Services Scholarship Scheme (CMCSSS) at the State Academy of Training.”

Under CMCSSS, coaching classes for Civil Services aspirants will commence providing 100% scholarship to the top 150 students worth Rs 1.6 crore and subsidised scholarship for the remaining 300.

According to the chief minister, the scheme is being implemented by the government of Manipur in partnership with ALS Group to provide the state’s youth a platform to take coaching classes without moving to other states.

The students were selected through an entrance exam which was conducted across the state, he added.

Speaking at the event, the chief minister also informed that physical classes for class IX and above will resume in the state within a week with proper COVID-19 SoPs and guidelines.

Singh also informed that an Olympian Park with the statues of 19 Olympians will be inaugurated soon.

The launch programme was attended by education minister S Rajen, MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, chief secretary Rajesh Kumar, Director general SAT Letkhogin Haokip, Director ALS Jojo Mathews, senior officials, faculties and aspirants.
