Imphal: Manipur has reported 432 new cases of COVID-19 and eight more fatalities due to the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, an official said.

The new COVID-19 cases were tested at RIMS (11), JNIMS (54), district hospitals (215) and other testing facilities (152).

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state increased to 72,718, of which 65,540 have recovered and 5,974 remain active. As many as 2,197 active cases are at home isolation facilities.

The latest fatalities were reported from Imphal West (4), Imphal East (1), Kakching (1), Senapati (1) and Ukhrul (1). With this, the COVID-19 death toll reached 1,204 in Manipur.

The new COVID-19 cases include 118 from Imphal East, 78 from Bishnupur, 73 from Imphal West, 44 from Thoubal, 31 from Kakching, 24 from Chandel, 21 from Kangpokpi, 14 from Churachandpur, 10 from Senapati, seven each from Tamenglong and Ukhrul, four from Jiribam and one from Tengnoupal.

As many as 609 more persons were discharged on Monday, taking the recovery rate to 90.12%. Of the latest discharged persons, 340 were at home isolation, six at RIMS, 10 at JNIMS, 102 at COVID-19 care centres and 151 at community home isolation centres (CHICs).

On July 4, a total of 9,570 persons received COVID-19 vaccines, taking the total number of doses to 7,38,631. Of these, 6,52,691 have received the first dose and 85,940 have got both.
