Imphal: Manipur reported 15 more deaths and 530 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday. With this, the total number of deaths now stands at 974 and the coronavirus caseload in the state at 59,852.

The number of active cases rose to 8,499, of which 3,156 people are in home isolation and the remaining at COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care facilities.

Of the latest COVID-19 deaths, seven were reported from Imphal West, two each from Imphal East and Bishnupur, and one each from Jiribam, Kakching, Thoubal and Ukhrul districts.

Among the the new COVID-19 cases, 170 were reported from Imphal West, 80 from Imphal East, 60 from Bishnupur, 56 from Thoubal, 54 from Churachandpur, 41 from Chandel, 36 from Kakching, 19 from Jiribam, seven from Ukhrul, six from Tamenglong and one from Noney district.

Meanwhile, as many as 726 more COVID-19 patients were discharged on Sunday, of which 526 were in home isolation and 11 at RIMS, four at JNIMS and the rest 185 at COVID-19 care facilities. With this, the recovery rate has now gone up to 84.17 per cent.
