Imphal: Manipur on Monday reported 16 more fatalities and 459 new COVID-19 cases, including an air passenger and seven personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

With this, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased to 990 and the cumulative cases in the state to 60,311.

The number of active cases now stands at 8,443, of which 2,969 people are in home isolation and the remaining at COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care facilities.

Also, the total number of recovered persons reached 50,878 as 499 more people were discharged in the last 24 hours. With this, the recovery rate has gone up to 84.35 per cent in the state.

Of the latest COVID-19 deaths, four were reported from Imphal West, three each from Imphal East, Churachandpur and Thoubal, two from Bishnupur and one from Kakching, respectively.

Meanwhile, the break-up of the new COVID-19 cases are as follows: Imphal West (136), Bishnupur (78), Thoubal (77), Kakching (29), Ukhrul (26), Churachandpur (25), Tengnoupal (11), Chandel (10), Tamenglong (10), Senapati (9), Kangpokpi (7) and Pherzawl (2).
