Imphal: Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in Manipur, state health director Dr K Rajo Singh on Thursday announced that all doctors and nurses must remain alert and vigilant at their respective places of duty to address the medical crisis.

COVID-19 infections have become more widespread all over the state, necessitating all public health facilities to remain alert round the clock to meet emergencies, said Dr Rajo.

The Manipur health director further ordered that all healthcare workers, including doctors and other health staff of the district hospitals, CHC, PHC, HWC and PHSC must remain in their places of duty without fail to meet medical emergencies round the clock.

Day-wise rooster system remains prohibited for doctors and health staff, he said. He further instructed all the chief medical officers and medical superintendents to take necessary action, warning that non-compliance shall be dealt with strictly as per the rules.
