Imphal: In the last 24 hours, Manipur reported 433 persons tested positive for COVID-19, pushing the total confirmed cases of coronavirus to 32,956.
A total of 38 air passengers were tested at Imphal Airport on Tuesday, however, all were tested negative, said state surveillance officer (SSO) Dr Somorjit Ningombam.
The new cases are reported from Imphal West (183), Imphal East (108), Churachandpur (42), Kakching (35), Bishnupur (26), Thoubal (17), Tamenglong (6), Ukhrul (5) Senapati (3), Jiribam (3), Kangpokpi (2), Kamjong (2) and Tengnoupal (1).
With these new cases, a total of 2,391 persons are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, of which 2,276 are from the general population, and 115 are Central Security personnel.
Also, two more COVID-19 patients reportedly from Bishnupur and Thoubal had succumbed to the virus on Tuesday, taking the cumulative number of deaths to 424. The recovery rate from the virus has dipped to 91.45%.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, a total of 659 D-type oxygen cylinders and 176 B type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institution and health facilities of Manipur, as per the latest health bulletin.
